Its Family History
The Park has been in the same family ownership since 1957 when Dennis and Peggy Stainer took over the Silent Woman Inn. Back then, to the rear of the Inn, was an area with around 4 used caravans, this was quickly expanded to accommodate 10 caravans, with the aim of providing additional income to support the Inn’s rent.
In the early 1960s the Park was totally redeveloped and became a licensed Residential Park with full utility services and a capacity for 35 homes.
Many locals still fondly remember Dennis and Peggy, who passed away in the 1990s. They had been a very popular couple in the pub world.
Their son Ian, and his wife Vicky, worked alongside them for several years and when Dennis and Peggy passed away in the 1990s Ian and Vicky took over the reins and purchased the freehold of the Park from the Brewery. They have gradually developed the Park, introducing new homes where possible and successfully applying for an uplift in the Site Licence numbers to 60.
